It is a well known fact that there are numerous computer viruses out there that target the Windows operating system. It is also a well known fact that any Windows-powered machine should be protected by an antivirus application. What may not be such a well known fact is that Kaspersky Anti-Virus is a very good choice for this task. Offered by Kaspersky Lab, a renowned provider of security solutions for home and business, Kaspersky Anti-Virus provides essential antivirus protection for PCs. It silently runs in the background, providing real-time protection against known and emerging threats.

The hardware requirements for running Kaspersky Anti-Virus vary based on the Windows edition you’re on. But the nice thing is that these hardware requirements are not hard to meet – a modern PC will easily meet them. Another nice thing is that installing Kaspersky Anti-Virus on your PC goes along smoothly and rapidly. It is a standard installation procedure that will take little of your time.

The main part of the interface presents a short overview of your PC’s security status. If any protection components are not working for example, they will be presented here. At the top you will find buttons for accessing the Cloud Protection feature, the Reports, and the Settings menu. Down at the button you will find buttons for Scan, Update, Tools, Quarantine, and Upgrade.

As already mentioned above, Kaspersky Anti-Virus provides essential antivirus protection for your machine. To better put things in perspective, here’s a quick look at the application’s main features: on-demand or scheduled scans, automatic updates, real-time protection, cloud protection, proactive detection, automatic exploit prevention, rollback feature to reverse the effects of a malware infection, phishing protection, and access to some useful tools (mainly Kaspersky Rescue Disk, Microsoft Windows Troubleshooting, Privacy Cleaner, and Browser Configuration). For 30 days you can explore all these features for free. Once this trial period is over, you will have to get a license to keep using Kaspersky Anti-Virus. Or you could upgrade to Kaspersky Internet Security, which has more to offer, from a functionality point of view.

Efficiently protect your PC from new and emerging threats with Kaspersky Anti-Virus.

Pros

The system requirements for running Kaspersky Anti-Virus are not very high; installing the security solution takes little time and effort. The intuitive interface is a pleasure to use. Kaspersky Anti-Virus provides efficient protection against security threats. You can upgrade to Kaspersky Internet Security from within Kaspersky Anti-Virus.

Cons

Free to use for 30 days; nag screen; has fewer features compared to Kaspersky Internet Security.
